Art on the Corner is organized and run by a group of neighbors, all residents of a co-op at 245 West 107th Street. The building encompasses two ground-floor retail spaces with the address 2780 Broadway: one is occupied by Garden of Eden Marketplace; the other was until recently home to Bank Street Bookstore. A thriving gathering place for children, their families, and educators, the bookstore was sadly unable to survive a pandemic that made gathering impossible.
Inspired by Art on the Ave NYC’s pop-up art installations, which began in vacant storefronts along Columbus Avenue, Art on the Corner sought to make equally good use of our co-op’s vacancy. The store’s nine enormous windows provide an excellent showcase for local art that enlivens the neighborhood, boosts community spirit, and provides great exposure to the creators of the works on display.

The highly visible corner storefront at 2780 Broadway that houses the temporary exhibition is available for lease. It offers 1,800 square feet on the ground level, 700 square feet below, and 85 feet of wraparound street frontage.
The store occupies a well-trafficked location just a few blocks south of Columbia University. This culturally diverse, family-friendly neighborhood has historically attracted an eclectic mix of artists, educators, and professionals from all over the world.
